Course description:

These lessons are for K-8 piano students and will reinforce a solid foundation in piano skills and musicianship. Using a fun approach, students will learn beginning music literacy, hand positions, posture, recognizing patterns, skips and steps, and creative expression. Our studio will use the Faber piano methods. All beginning students will need 3 books:Piano Adventures Primer Level 2nd Edition Lesson Book, Theory Book and Performance Book. Every student will work at their own individual pace. Supplementary or additional level books may be required as students advance. ALL students will also need a composition style notebook. Pianos or keyboards at home are required for remote lessons.

Teacher bio:

Second grade teacher Carrie VonderHaar has been at Graland since 1999 and over the years has worn many hats. Her first degree is in music, where she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado. Her primary instrument is flute. She worked for Colorado Honor Band for several years where she taught beginning band. She also teaches flute privately. She is excited to expand her private lessons to teach beginning piano.
